Chico da Silva is a key figure in the history of Brazilian art. Over the course of nearly five decades, he produced a unique body of work, creating his own visual mythology — an exceptional blend of his indigenous ancestry, Amazonian legends, and the creative power of his imagination.

Catalogue Raisonné

The project aims to document all of the artist's works, ensuring the preservation of his artistic, historical and cultural legacy.

The cataloguing work will allow the recognition of Chico da Silva's artistic production, in its distinct particularities and phases, attributing relevant information such as historical context, bibliography, exhibitions, awards and provenance , ensuring that each work has an accurate and accessible reference. The project will also inventory the works of the Pirambu School, recording the artists involved and their contributions, reconciling and incorporating knowledge relevant to the context of the school and its region.
